I found this technique from meditation, so anyone familiar with breath control should have no trouble. As soon as you feel a hiccup, sit up straight, or stand, and concentrate on breathing slowly and at an even pace. The key here is to relax your whole body. Concentrate on nothing else. If all goes well no second hiccup will surface. If it doesn't work at first, don't freak out. It is my firm belief that tension and worry cause the majority of hiccup attacks, and most of this tension comes from the nervous anticipation of the next hiccup. If you really believe that you aren't going to have another hiccup, you probably wont.
I cant guarantee this will work for everyone, but I haven't had hiccups in over 5 years, I kid you not.
