Advice to Yvonne, One Month Before her 20th Birthday
1. Never have more than a sip of alcohol. Your tolerance isn't as high as you'd like to think it is and you will tell people a lot more than you ever wanted to say about Erika.
2. Don't let Monica straighten your hair. Half of your hair will fall out and come back coarse and she won't even acknowledge that she was the one who did this to you, even though everyone else in that shop remembers it was her and all you wanted was for her to know so that no other girl would have to go through that.
3. Never give up music for anyone. Even if you might think so at the time, you will never love anyone more than making music.
4. Drop the John Milton class. The best you can get is a B and you will get married entirely too young.
5. Sex isn't that great. Neither is kissing. You waited for 20 years. Don't do either because when you do, you'll no longer feel different.
6. Tell Kyle how you feel, not because you might be with him someday, but because you will always wonder about his response if you don't.
