Advice to Jeph Valenzuela at age 17.
- Don't expect the world to make you better at what you love to do because it wont.
- Read as much as possible. Learn to paint. Study guitar
- Do this all while you still have time
- Submit your photos for that scholarship because, even if you don't see it now, your pictures are actually very original and you probably have a good chance of winning.
- Don't exclude people just because they don't fit the "cool" or "hip" role there in high school.
- These same kids will become some of the best friends you'll have.
- Do not invest so much time in Vanessa because you'll break up 3years later and feel like you never had a chance to hang out with your friends. Which will make you act out.
- Then you'll resent her for that. Even if it's not her fault
- Take advantage of your free public education because in college it is anything but free.
- Do not try to breeze by in everything you do. This will only make it harder for you to understand what responsibility actually is.
- Get a job and learn to work for you money so that when you're 22 and dad loses his job you can support yourself.
- Join the Poetry Club or Perform one of your songs at the talent show or in front of a large group of people so that you're not so afraid of being ridiculed and not accepted later when you want to be a singer/musician.
