Advice to Severine, Age 22
1. When you are taking Dr. H's class, make an effort to get to know him. He has amazing theatre stories, and when he dies several years from now, you will regret not speaking with him more.
2. Don't miss any of Dr. A's appointments. Ask him to screen you for Bipolar Disorder. This will save you time and money that you would have otherwise wasted on meds that did nothing and sessions that went nowhere.
3. Only sleep with Steve if you don't fall in love with him. He's holding out for someone better looking and with fewer problems. Just because he's paying so much attention to you doesn't mean that he's interested in YOU. He's only interested in getting laid right now. Trust me on this one.
4. Don't scratch your name off the audition sheets! You are passing up opportunities to get cast in productions!
5. Go ahead and stay with your current undergrad program, because the switch isn't worth it. It works for three years, then implodes spectacularly.
6. Stop taking money out of your savings. You're going to need that $2000 for a down payment when you wreck your car on the Interstate.
7. Pay attention when you're driving on the interstate. Don't try to change out your CDs while you're driving.
