Advise to Emma Sandoval Age 15
.)If you're depressed, don't starve yourself. Being that skinny just isn't a good look for you.
.)Your only 15! Stopping trying to play mother to your own mother! Her drug addiction is not something you can control no matter how hard you try, so just given in already and try to have some fun (given the circumstances).
.)Graffiti is not your calling. Photography and painting is, so leave the spray can to the pros.
.)Yeah so you have had a much hard time then most people at your age but drinking yourself into a coma and doing all sorts of drugs isn't going to make it any easier. Neither is bottling up all your depression. Instead of pushing people away try talking to someone.
.)Stop trying to beat everyone up. Burning bridge with people you hardly know will never benefit you. That includes Jesse! You'll eventually become his friend and regret that one the most.
.)Stop telling yourself you're going to drop out of school. You'll always try but you'll always go back to it. Even in your career. Just embrace your intelligent already.
.)Don't be so harsh on Amy. She's only trying to help you figure yourself out and stay in school. Embrace her knowledge and wisdom. I promise she just isn't, trying to be 'all up in your business' (as you would have cleverly put it at that age) for no good reason.
.)Stop thinking that being ghetto is who you are just because that's where you're from. The ghetto is a place. NOT how you should act. Learn to speak properly is not, 'selling out' nor is dressing correctly or acting proper. In fact it can be used as a tool to get you out of the ghetto. The ghetto will always be where you were from, but not who you are. Not to mention if you ever want to make change in the world or change in your life you have to learn to assimilate just a little. No important people are going to listen to you or respect you if every word out of your mouth is a curse word, or 'A'
.) Boys will come and go and your only 15 so you got plenty of time to chase them, later in life. So stop spending so much time on them and pick up a book or something.
.) Remember there are some things you just can't control. Have patients, things will eventually work out themselves out for the best I promise.
.) Remember life will go on. A rocky road is not the end of the world. Your hard times will pass and the hard times WILL make you stronger. Even though you had to live a much crazier life then most it will not be your biggest down fall. In fact it will eventually be one of your best attributes as it will help you to be more independent and well-rounded then those who had it easy.
