Advice to Katie Presley at Ten
1. Forget Monica and Ashley. Hang out way more with Ellen and Holly, they're the nice ones anyway and the other two don't get any nicer as they get older.
2. Pick out your own glasses, stop letting Mom do it for you.
3. When you smile, show your teeth. Braces aren't that bad and they'll make your teeth look really good later.
4. Don't start shaving your legs. Don't even start. You'll just stop later.
5. Stop eating meat. You'll live longer.
6. Make friends with the Bayley's down the street, all of them. Mom's about to marry their dad.
7. Don't give that note to Jimmy that you'll write and blame on someone else. Way too many hurt feelings and they'll all remember you for it.
8. Come to think of it, stop liking Jimmy. He's mean. And he gets pretty fat. Hang out with James, he's nice. He likes you.
9. Spend more time with Allison. Turns out she's your soulmate.
