First. Don't hate your father for doing what he had to do to be happy.
Second. Don't try to charm your stepfather. Or beat sense into him. He just doesn't like you, and its his loss.
Advice for a 17 year old Katherine Miller:
First. Spend more time at home, if only to protect Abigail. It might not be possible to prevent what will happen to her, but if it is, you should.
Second. One day you'll leave Westminster and see that the boy you think you're in love with won't look quite the same to you anymore. Realize that in your whole life ahead of you, you will continually meet people who are truly amazing. And don't ever settle.
