Advice to Ben Mendelsohn at age 17
1. Give up on girls and be gay now. Don't be timid and wait until college. Tell everyone.
2. Have sex with boys. You will enjoy yourself.
3. Quit the wrestling team, even if the shower room is fun.
4. Stop acting like you are smarter than your teachers, parents, friends, and family. You are not that smart. If you were that smart, you'd have your life in order. You actually are kind of dense.
5. Smoking pot isn't as cool as it seems and it's making you dumber.
6. Stop talking about how much you like literature and read a book. Or how much you love to write and actually write something.
7. Practice the guitar so that you can weird people out with stellar psychedelic noise rock.
8. Stop wasting your parents money on speeding tickets, clothes, and marijuana.
9. Be nicer to your friends. Aaron, Matt, and Jillian aren't going to stick with you if all you do is criticize them.
