Advice To Adrienne Manlove at Ages Nine and Sixteen:
(Nine)
1. Don't complain and get grossed out when grampa visits and has to sleep in your bedroom. Nobody knows yet but the reason he has sores on his legs is because he's becoming very sick. Instead, listen to everything he says and appreciate the few times you get to see him.
2.Get over your fear of singing in front of people. It will come in handy in the future.
3. Watch your little sister more closely, because she will develop a tendency to hurt herself. Watch out for when she's playing in the plastic shopping cart and when she's spinning in dad's computer chair.
4. Explore your city more often. You'll wish you had once you move to surburbia.

5. Don't get jealous when Kaela starts making new friends. You can't own your friendships, and things will always turn out fine with her anyways. If you can't get over the jealousy, at least be honest with her about it.
6. Don't get involved with Andrew, because if you do it will only bring you grief. You might temporarily lose your best friend's trust, and destroy some of your morals.
7. Quit theater and get into art. Theater is a waste of time and you don't enjoy it enough. Art suits you better.
8. Get out of high school now. You will have more time to think about everything else, and you'll find that homeschooling is much healthier for you.
9. Don't make a weird face at Brighton's little brother when you meet him. You'll freak him out and he's one of the nicest people you will ever know.
10. Don't let Sarah call Andrew. It will only hurt him, give her more grief and make you feel guilty. If anything, just ignore him and let everything heal itself until you can deal with your anger in a better way.
