Advice to Alicia at age 17 from Alicia at age 18
1 -Try to have more fun at the snowball. I know you aren't there with the person you want to be there with, but just try. It'll make your life that much better.
2 -Don't treat Andy like crap. It may not work out, but you'll save yourself trouble if you just tell him you don't want to be with him anymore.
3 - Don't waste time thinking that you and Andy will actually go to prom together. Thank him for the stuffed frog and tell him that this "break" isn't just a break. You're done.
4 - When Casey says he'll go to the prom with you, immediately tell him yes. Don't wait. You'll have an amazing time with him.
5 - Spend as much time as possible with your friends. You will grow closer with so many people this year. Make your last year in Ridley worth it.
6 -Go to the playground more often. I know you're 17, but you have amazing times behind your old elementary school.
7 -Don't get involved with Andy. Again. It will only hurt you and one of your close friends. She will not speak to you for a while and you will eventually realize how much of a jerk Andy is being.
8 - Listen to everyone when they say that you and Casey would be perfect together. Don't wait. By the time you realize that you really like him you will be stressed out about leaving for college in less than a year.
9 - Don't lose touch with Angela. She is one person you can talk to for hours.
10 - Kelley is our best friend. She always will be. Don't worry about not being as close. You two will always be friends no matter what.
11 - Don't spend a month of time being angry at nothing. Friends will think you're being ridiculous and you'll feel lonely.
12 - Go out and get a school year job sooner. You will need the money.
13 - Don't complain about working at the pool when you start. You will soon come to love this job and everything about it.
14 - Don't lose touch with Katie or Melissa. You'll miss them.
15 - Overall, just have fun and enjoy you last year of being underage.
