To Lilly at age 10
1. Mom and Dad are fools and there is nothing that you can do to change them. You can try all you want to be the best kid you can be, but you can't the save them from their own misery, no matter how hard you try. Remember though, just because they're screwed up doesn't mean that you're gonna be. In fact, all of this is gonna make you more a lot stronger when you get older and make you better at dealing with life.

2. Alright Miss Cynic, stop it right there. You think you're just so much smarter and cooler than everyone else don't you? Well, you're not. The Smiths are not some underground sensation. In fact they are quite popular and have been for about a decade now. You're not the only one who shops at thrift stores. And ironic t-shirts are really not that ironic. They're just silly.
To Lilly at age 20
3. Stop doubting yourself and stop striving so hard. Take a deep breath and stop living life with such determination. You always come out alright, but sweetheart, you really need to remember that there are people who love you and you can't just live in your shell of urgency for the rest of your life.
To Lilly at age 25
4. You really should've had that bombass party for your birthday. Why did you just stay at home and have a ÒmellowÓ night with a handful of friends and your complacent boyfriend? It wasn't that bad, but you really wanted to go out and fuck shit up. Oh yeah, you've big things ahead of you and so don't be fooled at how pleasant things may seem right now! Fate is getting to shit on you something hella crazy and so enjoy the calm for now. But you really do need to get your ass kicked before you turn into a premature grandma.
