Advice from Lexie, now age 32, for when I was 18:
1. When Darren P. stops in front of your locker to talk to you, don't run away because you're afraid you're going to say something stupid. He likes you and you just need to try to talk to him.
2. Listen to that voice in your head that is telling you that you are losing your sense of self reliance by allowing your best friend to insist on her being there with you, and vice versa, whenever a situation takes guts. For Example, don't ask for a recommendation for college from Mrs. Sogge with your best friend at your side.
3. When your Father dies tell your Mom that you need help, that you need to talk to someone. She will send you to a therapist who will help. Do this because if you don't you will be so overwhelmed with fear and anxiety that you will channel all you energy into losing your virginity to this nasty looser cook you work with at KFC. Don't start drinking to manage your feelings.
4. For some reason everyone in the family will became distant from each other, try to do the opposite.
5. Don't quit dancing at ADT because your best friend wants you to tryout with her at cheerleading tryouts. Cheerleading will be a fun excuse to wear short skirts, but you do not have passion for it like you do for dance.
