advice to laura, aged fourteen and a half:
get involved with your best friend. even though you will feel hurt and miserable at the end of it, over the next two years you will have one of the closest and emotional relationships of your life. you can't afford to miss out on such a thing.
don't regret anything in your past. it makes your life what it is and who you are as a person.
