Advice for John at 16:
1. This is the beginning; everything you bitched about previously doesn't count, because you couldn't drive. Now you can and the whole world is different. Getting your license is on par with losing your virginity, (which I'm assuming you haven't. Your Dad will tell you when you're twenty-two that he lost his virginity at a younger age than you. It doesn't bother you, but don't try to beat him.) Driving changes your whole perspective on life, you can't live without it once it's happened; same goes with sex, two things you comprehend on a novice level are thrown at you with great expectation and little time for field testing. Don't freak out, don't hurry; stick with Driver's Ed. When you take it originally because you always sound like an idiot explaining how you "didn't fail out the first time."
