Advice to me at age 19
1. Do not, under any circumstances, continue this relationship with Rob. He holds a great deal of positive potential, true, but potential energy does not necessarily manifest itself into pretty forms of kinetic energy.
2. He drains you-emotionally, spiritually, and mentally-and you know it. He adds virtually nothing to your life (other than a little income, but you can top that on your own-trust me). He will continue his patterns of marginally abusive behavior, and he will find more and more sneaky ways of undermining you and belittling you, and he will eventually try to break you. He may not succeed, but he will try.
3. Save yourself years of pain, years of time wasted, and years of lost moments. Go out, have fun, be yourself, and participate in a busy life (go places, see things, do people...).
4. Just be sure you do it without him.
