Advice to Gizem at age 18
1. Stop thinking that it is going to be just fine starting today. These next 4 years, you will keep thinking that you have the happiest and saddest days of your life. That's a big lie. Even if you manage to finish university in only 4 years, there's a great chance that you won't be able to get a job and spend an entire year at home, looking at the computer screen and refreshing the page on your web-browser. So, lower the standards of your dreams for future.
2. One of your best-friends is going to die in May, so you might want to think about how much you're going to miss him when you tell him that you cannot go out on the weekend because you have an essay due monday.
3. You need to go abroad for your Masters degree. I know you hate the fact that you can't do it for college, but you can do it after.
to Gizem at age 19
4. That long-haired girl you're planning to share a room with, she is going to be a pain in the ass and spoil your relationship with the man you'll be getting married to in 6 years. So, stay away from her, you know she's annoying. Or else...
to Gizem at age 20
5. You should tell friend P that your family is having financial problems. It is not her fault that her family isn't. She is tired and sad for the world. Talk to her in a way she can understand you.
6. Stop becoming good-friends with people you do not know much about. They'll keep hurting you till you gain 5 pounds for losing each.
7. Slap yourself really hard for 10 times before you get the tattoo on your arm.
