Advice to Karen at age 9:
Don't make fun of your best friend's speech problem just so the "cool" girls will like you. That is a cruel, cruel thing to do to someone who loves you.
Advice to Karen at age 12:
That boy who is so mean to you now will, in 10 years, apologize to you. It will make you feel bad for him, because his life is so full of sadness. He's mean to you because he feels bad about himself. It's not about you. Hopefully that knowledge will make you cry less.
Advice to Karen at age 15:
Tell the cops what he did.
Advice to Karen at age 17:
It's okay not to take ritilan just because your mom thinks you should.
Advice to Karen at age 23.
It's okay to elope if you are uncomfortable with a big wedding. Just go ahead and do it. You'll both feel happier.
Advice to Karen at age 26:
Get another job now instead of almost two years from now. It's making you miserable.
