Advice to Drew at age 14/15:
1. Call Grandmother Lorraine atleast once a week. Send letters to her. Send art work to her. Memorize her stories. Don't forget to call her back after you accidentaly hung up on her on valentines day. Send her a card, if not anything else.
2. Don't be irresponsible with the Keylime Gallery, take advantage of the situation. Put art on their walls.
3. Dude! Get your learner's permit as soon as you can! It won't matter later that you had issues with gas dependency because you're going to learn about veggie oil before the gas gets cccrazy.
4. Pay attention to your Dad.
5. GET A JOB!
6. take advantage of your arts school and your photo classes, All of the materials are free for goodness' sake!
7. spend too much time making art.
8. Go vegetarian the first time you try. You're going to regret your awkward love affair with Liverwurst.
9. Clean your room. You still havn't done it.
10. TAKE HONORS BIOLOGY WHEN YOU HAVE THE CHANCE!
11.Don't get snooty about music, ALL music is beautiful and purposeful!!! Go see stupid hardcore shows, go see Atom and his Package, go see the Locust, Just because a band isn't called Radiohead or Sonic Youth doesn't mean they're bad, and hey really listen to it if you're going to be so uptight about it.
12. When Colin calls you up to go skating on this really awesome ghetto backyard halfpipe, don't wimp out because you're at another friends house, blah, blah,blah. Dude, you've already seen Dead Poets Society, if it's your favorite movie then live up to it you flakey jerk!!!!!
13. Pay attention to your Dad. Learn from him, he's got a lot to teach you that he may never get to because eeeverything else was so much more important.
14. Hug and Kiss your mom and dad more often, regularaly, all of the time, IMPULSIVELY!
15. When you realize that documentation is a good thing, DO IT!!!!!!
16.Don't play videogames.
17. Take Karate, or Hapkido or Yoga or Tai Chi or any of those things you said you wanted to.
18. Get in a boat, go fishing, go camping, make your dad take you.
19. Go see the old folks at St.Matthews, especially Barney, he loves you, man, and that's nothing to fool around with.
20. When Mike Assiff asks to give you rides all the time, take him up on the offer. There's a lot to be learned from him at the time.
21. When your friends decide to start a garden but don't, take the initiative and do it yourself.
22. Pay attention to your Dad. He actually does love you but is just as scared as your are.
