Advice to Danielle at age 13:
- Don't be afraid of California. It'll be the greatest love of your life. (As of March 2006).
Advice to Danielle at age 14:
- You are not responsible for Sarah being sick. Be there for her, don't be her.
- Nice work standing up for yourself. Now, don't back down.
Advice to Danielle at age 15:
- Speak up in class more. You know you're smart, they know you're smart - you have nothing to lose.
- Go out for soccer, for Christ's sake.
Advice to Danielle at age 16:
- Go and get your driver's license.
- If you're not going to start practicing, guitar lessons are a waste of time. Drop it and find something you really like, or get to work.
Advice to Danielle at age 17:
- Get out of the house. High school is a joke, but you could spend more time in the company of other human beings.
Advice to Danielle at age 18:
- It's just college. Don't be so scared.
Advice to Danielle at age 19:
- Keep taking Spanish, and sign up for EAP. You'll be sorry if you never go.
- Lock your doors. Every night.
- Thomas is not as big a deal as you think. Go for it, but get over it when it bites you in the ass.
- When you meet Eric, proceed with caution.
Advice to Danielle at age 20:
- Do an internship. Take advantage of whatever the Econ department has for you.
- Do not let Eric kiss you. You will fall for a long time, all by yourself.
Advice to Danielle at age 21:
- Quadruple-check the time for the Econ 165 final. It'll be hard to convince Professor M to let you make it up when you accidentally miss it.
- Since you went ahead and let him kiss you, don't be too proud to forgive Eric when he begs for forgiveness. You'll miss him later.
Age 22:
- Leaving California will break your heart, but everything is temporary. Change is where you grow.
