Advice to me at age 27
1. Don't spend any timeÊfeeling sorry for yourself that Jim broke up withÊyou after all those years.ÊÊYou didn't travel because he didn't like to travel although you wanted to, you spent money you didn't have to finance hisÊ*minor* drug habits and he was a poor conversationialist when you were alone together.Ê You hadÊvery little in common.Ê You cheated on him whenever you got the chance. YouÊshouldn't loose any more time in your life on this guy. Use your vacation time to go to London and Paris and Rome.
2. MoveÊaway from your room mate Carol.Ê You could affordÊto move to Jersey City or Hoboken and not have to have a roommate now.Ê AskÊyourÊUncle Chickie for an apartment in his building. ÊEven if you had a little studio apartment to yourself it would be better than watching her eat out ofÊthe refrigerator in her underwear and listening to Barbra Streisand records.
3. You are doing a good job managing your career but try notÊto be such an asshole at work.Ê You will get ahead, but you will get ahead faster if you try to cooperate with others rather than trying to be the alpha dog in every situation.Ê No one likes a know it all.Ê Ask advice from your boss about herÊwork and life exeperience.ÊÊHer life might lookÊboring to you right now, but that is what your life will be like when you are 46 and you will be glad for it.
4. Don't start a relationship with Seth. He is gay, and will useÊyourÊrelationship to avoid having toÊacknowlege this himself.Ê He will tell his parentsÊand friends that he cannot get married because he is dating you and you are not Jewish.
5. Don't buy that coat with the fur collar. It makes you look like Uncle Fester from the Addams Family.
