Advice to myself at age 15
1.tell n. how you truly feel about him. Hopefully he will be man enough to tell you he doesn t feel the same way about you. If you don t, then you will waste 5 years of trying to convince him to love you, and if he doesn t want to be with you, then the poor boy will miss out for the rest of his life
2.do not fall in love with n. anyway.
3.tell c.j. that you truly love him and you are sorry for the pain you cause him when you broke up with him. Tell him you wish you could have changed the past because he meant the world to you, and the was the most meaning full relationship you will ever have in the next 6 years
4.when you invite c.j. to come over to get the notebook you made him, make sure he gets there before or after n. gets there. You don t want them to meet. And in the notebook, before you end it, tell him you admire him so much as a person and that he has qualities that you only wish you could have.
5.tell your mother you love her. She is not the enemy. She has so much strength to do what she did and you should admire her for that.
6.start a dialogue with her about her past drinking habits. If you don t now, it will be almost impossible later on. If you let the pain build up then you will be unbalanced, so deal with it now.
7.tell Michael to break up with j. she will break his heart later on, and he will have wasted so many years of his life on someone who does not recognize how amazing he is. and he is amazing.
8.stop hanging around with l.l. she was never a good friend to you, so why waste your time.
9.apply yourself in French class. You are going to need to be fluent in 2 languages in graduate school, so learn it now, and speak to your grandmother in French. She is old and lonely and that would make her so happy.
10.tell Jeremy you love him very often. He needs to hear it to believe it.
11.do not start dating j.l. he will leave town without telling you, and never end up breaking up with you.
12.work your ass off in theatre, especially competitions. You wont realize how much you loved it until its over. It was the best time of your life.
13.When you and peter walk down the theatre corridor, look at him and say hello, then stop him, give him a hug, tell him you love him and that he was the best childhood friend you ever had and that you will miss him, but you will think of him for the rest of your life. He will die in two days.
14.don t go to the wedding. It all started from that day. It was a fabulous day that you would have missed out on, but it will bring so many bad days later on, and you really don t want to waste your time.
15.hang out with your grandparents more. You will feel guilty for years because you don t spend enough time with them. They are some of the coolest people and if they ever die you will regret this for the rest of your life. Learn about them in your head you want to, but you don t make the effort. Their history is your history.
16.spend more time with your dad. Encourage his music habit. Hes such a smart guy and he really wants to be closer to you.
17.choose a college that will challenge you. You don t want to spend four years of your life at a school you are not happy in.
18.disregard the last piece of advice. go to the school that you are eventually going to pick, because you will make some of the most amazing friends that you couldn t live without.
19.keep in contact with c.j. and g.m. you will miss them extremely when you no longer spend your time with them.
20.experience every day. Don t just go through the motions. Live each day to the fullest. Dance, sing, play, skip, scream, cry, draw, act, do whatever you feel.
