Advice to Case at age 13:
1. Keep dancing. You're still young and have time and energy to do everything you want to do.
2. Don't sacrifice all your artistic ambitions to practice your harp. It will only limit you in the future.
3. Your teacher is wrong to tell you to change your story about a talking cat. If you like it, keep it. You are right.
4. Don't wear the clothes your mother buys for you. Shop at Goodwill. You will have more fun figuring out your own style, and will be more comfortable with yourself in the future as a result.
5. Leave the house more often by yourself.
6. Insist on being a boarding student in high school, it is a very good idea.
7. Don't worry so much about spending time with your family, you will realize later that they don't care about you the way you thought they did.
8. Stay in touch with Sabrina, and talk to her about real things. She will remind you of the good things about being a child.
9. Choose your own person to write about in your high school application essay, not what your mother decides would work well. I'm sure it will be much more original than Emily Dickinson.
