Advice to Julie Bruce at age eighteen
1. Go to bed earlier and don't skip 9 a.m. classes so much.
2. Don't spend your student loan money on clothes, alcohol and frivolous things because you have to pay that back at some point.
3. Break up with Eric before you move away to college, your relationship just goes downhill from there on and you will save yourself a lot of heartache and debt if you end it now.
4. Why did you ever even contemplate marriage at age 18? Even if you have to live with your parents during the summer it's better than having an unhealthy marriage that just ends in divorce.
5. Don't take anyone's opinion too seriously. Just because your boyfriend doesn't like a certain band doesn't mean you have to stop liking them.
6. Be more involved in school activities and write a few articles for the university newspaper.
7. Keep in touch with the friends you made in school because you will really need those people later in life.
8. Change your major to English because you're a writer at heart.
