Advice to 15-Year-Old Brad:
1. Don't have sex yet. I know it seems compelling, but you're doing it for all the wrong reasons and doing it now will cause you to have bad associations and a taxing intimacy dysfunction within the next few years.
2. Learn the difference between drug use and drug abuse; this distinction will come in handy later.
3. Stop every now and then to remember how much you love your family. They deserve kindness and respect.
4. When you meet a boy named Tony, take things very slowly. He's a wonderful, sweet, intelligent person, and you should try to get to know him as well as you can.
5. Coming out of the closet isn't nearly as bad as you think it's going to be!
6. It's ridiculous to think you could ever have a healthy relationship with a Mormon (considering the circumstances). You're going to get your heart broken if you play with those matches.
7. Don't let life pass you by while self-hatred and fear keeps you down. Be confident and proactive.
