advice to me ten years ago (when i was 12)
1.) don't cry if you don't have many friends or if your so-called "friends" leave you behind. when you grow up you will meet a lot of people who will show you the true meaning of people. yes,lots of them. one of them will be your girlfriend.
2.) don't eat too much sweets. or brush your teeth after. cavities suck. your teeth being drilled sucks. but what sucks more is having to shell out half your savings trying to salvage a very important tooth. so easy on the candy.
3.)stop comparing yourself to her. you are unique and each person is different. also, remember that what is beautiful on the outside may not be as pretty on the inside.
4.)don't get mad when others label you a "nerd" for reading a lot and always being seen in the library. what you read now will be very useful when you grow up in a liberal arts university, where you'd find out that almost all your classmates love reading and think math is evil too.
5.) listen to other stuff aside from mainstream pop. it might seem cringe-worthy now, but your folks do know good music.
6.) don't follow fashion trends. wear whatever you want. don't believe expensive, labelled clothing makes you cooler. it doesn't. it never did and it never will.
7.) laugh off embarassing mishaps. in a few years, you and your friends will be laughing over stuff you mope over till bedtime
8.) don't stop eating fish. your body's going to reject it in the future if you stop and that's not good for your body.
9.) say "i love you" more. and mean it.
10.) compliment others on things you admire in them.
11.) give away more hugs.
