Advice to Annabel at 21.
1.Break up with Daniel when you leave for London. Otherwise your on-again off-again relationship will ruin your entire trip.
2.Don't start phoning him and writing him loveletters when you get there, it is over. You'll have much more fun if you forget him.
3.When he tells you he wants to come and meet you, tell him you need to be free. How many times do I have to tell you? Go out and meet someone else!
4.Don't buy the Eurolines pass, go to London and buy the Eurobus pass, you will meet more people while you're traveling and won't feel so lonely and scared.
5.Don't spend your Harrods voucher on those strappy sandals, they will squeak when you walk and will be uncomfortable on long distances and you will end up sending them home from Italy. Buy some great books instead.
6.Have a holiday romance in Florence with that awesome Argentinian guy you meet on the bus from Lyons - Andres Basile. And don't worry about smoking that joint with him at Bologna - you won't get caught and you will have the most sublime bus ride through the fields of sunflowers in Tuscany, listening to the Il Postino soundtrack on his walkman.
7.Have another holiday romance with that interesting Danish gut who liked Paul Auster.
8.Don't take the nannying job at the Von Christiersons - they are bastard people who will make you feel insecure and anxious, AND you will get bitten by bed bugs.
9.Have a fling with one of Loo's friends from Loughborough - maybe that friend of James DBs, I think his name was Neil.
10.If after taking all this advice, you still get depressed, come home sooner. You don't have to prove anything to anyone.
11.Make sure you mail that last letter to Jemma - she is facing death and really needs to hear from you.
