Advice to Alicia Whaley at Twelve:
1. I know it's cute, but don't buy that Tweety Bird notebook with your gift certificate to the Warner Brothers' store. It's not going to be used for anything good.
2. If you must buy the book, do not bring it to school. Jenny Noyes, your best friend, will see the book, tell you it's cute (even though you already know), and say you two should use it to write notes in Mrs. Mendieta's class.
3. If you must bring it to school, do not use it to write notes with Jenny. Especially not about other people in the class.
4. If you must write notes, especially about other people in the class, do not make a list with Jenny of everything you don't like about everyone else in your seventh grade class.
5. And most importantly, do not accidentally leave this book underneath a seat in the van on the way back from a band trip for Myles Cullen to find and make copies of for everyone else to see.
