Advice to A-A at 16:
1. It's ok to date her. It'll mess with your head for a long, long time, but you won't ever actually regret it.
2. And enjoy it--no one else is going to know your dark heart in the same way again. And she is one of the most interesting people you'll meet.
3. But spend some time with Christopher or Andrea or Dalia, will you? They'll make you happier.
4. Break up with her before you go to college. It'll save you two years of sad sex together.
5. Could you relax a bit? You can live a little for the day as well as the future.
6. You're not going to do very well on the Calculus AP because of the teacher you get. Drop that college psychology class and swap schedules, or decide that you're ok with losing track of your math head. You'll care more than you think about this.
7. You will become friends with your older brother. It'll just take some time.
8. Sarah Grace is going to turn into one of the people you're most grateful to know. You won't know it for twelve more years, but give her a little more credit.
9. Yes, your mom is crazy. Yes, she changed while you were living with your dad. Talk to someone about it. Otherwise it will take you six years to really get your head around it.
10. You're going to have to let someone know you. It will take you more than fifteen years to realize this.
11. You will end up working in theater. Worry about that less.
12. You'll never hate who you are right now.
13. You're going to be fine.
