Advice to Francis at age 16
1. Get the hell out of the track team and join the drama club since you wanted to act. Never mind what your parents, friends and classmates would say. But enough with the athletics for you're wasting your time
2. Be proud that you're not being accepted in school. You're meant for something different, so stop trying so hard to be noticed.
3. Don't go to the party this saturday. The people there are fakes who think they're a bunch of rockers. They don't know music like you do. Stay home and play guitar
4. Don't whine about your grades being bad. There's something else for you that's not measured by test results and mathematical theorems that you really don't care about
5. Write down everything that you see, hear and feel. That kid who was always the butt of jokes in your Asian History class. Those annoying "rocker" friends who bash your eccentricity , urging you to be more normal. Write it all down for they could save your life, especially when you realize that your rocker friends may be lawyers and bankers now
6.Always trust your intuition and don't be swayed by the words of your parents, peers and teachers. If you feel that there's something wrong with the way Algebra was taught, then there is something wrong.
