Advise to Jeanie S. (currently Jeanie A.) at sixteen:
1) Stop competing with your best friend and just tell her you're in love with her.
2) Also, don't kiss her skanky ass boyfirend. You know he's probably got some disease.
3) Don't homeschool. Graduating early means that you will not be able to participate in any psych experiements, and you will constantly feel threatened by how much older everyone in college is than you. Oh, and later, when you're preparing for grad school, your mom will tell you that you look like you are twelve.
4) Don't be so afraid of what other people think.
5) Dump Kenny. He's an ass. He'll probably rape you.
6) Don't ever talk to him again after you have dumped him. You'll end up not taking to him anyway, after you're divorced.
7) Put less emphasis on religion and more emphasis on acceptance. You'll be a better person.
8) Tell your mom to shut up sometimes. And mean it.
9) Tell your mom to dump her lame ass husband. He's totally a child-molester.
10) Stay closer to your brother. He's really going to need you.
11) Stop hurting yourself. Start wwriting more.
12) I want you to realize that there is more time ahead than you imagine. I want you to know that, one day, you will be happy.
13) Learn how to play the guitar. Start a band. Don't be a wuss about it.
14) Tell someone how you feel about them now. You'll have a big problem with it later if you don't.
15) Put some distance between yourself and Luke.
16) Take some time to write down what is actually important to you. Keep that list with you at all times. You're going to need it.
17) Don't value romantic relationships as much as you do. Again, there will be time.
18) Speak up. The worst that will happen is that someone won't like you anymore.
19) Take some AP classes!
20) Think about going to college in another state. Maybe an all girls school. That sounds good for you.
