When I die, I would like to be cremated. Before my funeral, I want everyone who loved me to make a little postcard. On the front of it, they will draw a picture of a bird. On the back, they will write their name and the name of their favorite perennial flower. Then they will send it to someone I love, maybe my granddaughter, if I live that long. She'll be in charge of getting each person a bulb of their chosen flower, planted in a small flower pot filled with soil mixed with my ashes. At my funeral, all the flower pots will be given out like goodie bags, along with a book sewn together from the pictures of birds. On the cover of this little book will be an image of a bird that I drew while I was still alive.
