What I'd like to happen when I die actually came to me on my way to pick up my kid from school. I was waiting in traffic near a cemetery, and was amused at the artificial flowers all neatly maintained at their plaques, not by families, but probably by some balding fat guy who drives a golf cart on a daily basis and breaks a sweat by standing up. So, I shot a photo of it. It wasn't until I viewed the photo that I noticed the tree stump. A lovely piece of natural history, preserved amongst the masses of plastic, metal, and brick. It was near the fence, so no one really cared about removing it. Me, I'd like to be buried (sans formaldehyde) in an untreated pine box by this dead tree stump - as opposed to having a giant fancy funeral and fake flowers on my grave. It will be like an 'organic' resting place from which new life may spring. As for the balding fat guy, I'll wish him luck from beyond (if he's still around.)
