it would be sweet to be propped up against and hugging an ancient monumental head stone in an historic cemetery here in the city--the morning after my death, with a note pinned to my best suit saying: "i love you; but i never had an opportunity to tell you." either that or i'd be put into the trunk of an old car and driven up to the mountains, where i would be taken out and left underneath a tree to be eatten by the animals--maybe a bear, since i was out grabbing bananas last night at the co-op and a young couple were ahead of me in line buying $69 worth of snack foods, including: a bottle of wine (under $20) and what looked like a slab of chocolate cake that had nuts baked-in--which was, actually, a wedge of sharp cheddar cheese with pieces of bear meat added. i was sad to learn the checker recognized it as "the best cheese in the world." i hoped it wasn't, as that would mean everybody, where ever it was being sold would have a hankering. guess i'd just like to give a whole lot of me in return.
