Assignment #44
Make a "LTLYM assignment".

"Make a drawing of a nightmare you had as a child"
Amanda Owen-Doerr
Lincoln, Nebraska USA

REPORTS:

PREVIOUS NEXT

Draw a picture of the worst nightmare you ever had a s a small child and then take a photo of it. Next, stare at either the drawing or the photo until you begin to feel that same terror and trauma you felt as a small child. Remember, this is all about trying to get you to "feel" again, so let's take this seriously!

Example:

In this assignment I drew a picture of my mom with a pig nose. I my dream she would come in to my room and tell me she brought me a surprise from the fair. I would be told to close my eyes and she would remove the "surprise' from its' brown bag. When I opened my eyes I saw my mom with the (non removable) new nose saying "don't cry Mandy... do you feel like I'm going to eat you all up now?" (Which of course she was). The problem of the dream wasn't the nose or the monologue, it was the two buttons she was wearing, one said "I "heart" dogs" and the other said "I love weekends".

We are all a community of nightmare children and some of us may require the freedom to express our displeasure and fear the most natural way possible and that way might just be by wetting the bed or abusing things that are better left untouched.
