I got this scar on my right knee when I was about ten years old. My older brother Alex had build some complicated contraption of K'nex (remember those colorful little plastic rods and connecters?) and, lazy and ADD as he was, left it in the living room. As I was surveying the scene, my little brother Jake ran up behind me and pushed me on to the K'nex sculpture. I don't remember why he pushed me but I remember screaming at him and sobbing as I hobbled up to my parent's bedroom to find band-aids. I can still picture the blood running down my leg and the early morning light that bathed the stairs as I tried in vain to keep my blood from staining the carpet. My parents were still asleep. I don't remember anything after that.
