When I was a teenager, I broke into our high school in the middle of the night with a couple of friends. We didn't want to steal anything. We were just a bit drunk and bored. In our small town, the school's windows were only secured by sticks, so they were easy to shimmy.

We ran around the hallways for a while and then decided to sneak into the courtyard so we could access the window to the music room. We had this idea to play a little. It was a cold and rainy night, and as we were trying to slide a window up from the outside it shattered into large shards. One of my friends got several long shallow cuts up and down his arms, but I was just left with one deep gash. We were both bleeding a lot and made our way back into the school. Neither of us had glass stuck in the cuts but just in case we made our way to a water fountain and tried cleaning them out. I remember leaving the fountain being covered in blood.

We made our way to a friend's house nearby and told his Mom we fell on some glass in the playground. We gauzed up the situation, and I knew I couldn't go to the doctors because the police would be asking about bleeders from that night. I ended up showing my cousin the next day, and she kind of freaked and told my Mom. I had to confess to her what had happen because she didn't buy the falling in glass story. We got butterflies to put the gash together, but I probably should have gotten stitches. No biggie though. It just healed like this and we were never caught though the incident did get reported in the local paper.

PS This happened over 20 years ago, so I'm sure my statute of limitation leaves me clear. Just thought you'd like to know in case Homeland Security comes knocking!
