This scar on the middle finger of my left hand is from being smashed between two sharp ends of 2 1/2 inch metal fence posts. This particular wound happened while putting up the outfield fence for my summer baseball field. The worst part about it is that that weekend I had to pitch in a tournament and the wound was on my pitching hand. It needed stitches but I refused due to the fact that I was so deeply involved in baseball. This wound caused me to have to learn to work around any obstacle that might come in between me and my goal. I feel that through this experience I have learned that sometimes you just have to suck it up and take the pain, in order to make the gain. Therefore, I feel that this wound was worth all the pain and suffering, in order to teach me the lessons that it taught me.
