So. I was walking down the hall on a exceptionally unexceptional day when I was overcome with that force ? you know the one ? the one that tells you Exactly how to remedy the situation at hand. Well, anyway, this force told me that I simply had to, no questions asked, no moment of hesitation, sprint down the rest of the hall and slide into the doorway. Well. I think you know as well as I do that Something was bound to happen. I took off and sped up into a full speed sprint with only that doorway in mind. As I neared it, I quickly calculated the distance at which I should begin sliding and with a seamless transition proceeded to slide across the floor with my left leg folded under me. But what I forgot to take into account in my hasty decision was the consequences I would face when sliding three feet across a rug with my pant legs rolled up and very short socks. The ensuing rug burn was minimally painful at first but ultimately was the cause countless cramps and my calf when I had to maintain a perfect ninety-degree angle between my ankle and foot at all times. Due to the positioning of the burn, anytime I moved my foot from that angle, I was reopening the wound. It was weeks before I could walk without a limp and the hardest part of the whole ordeal was in the innumerable explanations I dealt, explicating why I was limping and how I possibly managed to get a scrape on that part of my ankle. I regret nothing.
