During a track meet, I was running the 4x100 meter relay, a sprinting relay during which you most have perfect handoffs of the baton. During this meet 2 of the usual 4 of us in the relay were injured or sick, so we had two girls running who didn't usually, meaning we hadn't practiced handoffs. I run the final leg of the race and had a friend passing me the baton who hadn't run the 4x100 in 2 years. Right after I received the baton her knee hit the bottom of my foot, sending me flying across the pavement. Most of my weight landed on my right side, mainly my right elbow and hip. This scar is on my hip, and the one on my arm isn't quite as bad. Apparently I needed stitches, but by the time I came in for them, it was too late. Therefore, it healed poorly.
