these four scars are two years old. It was a time when I was severely depressed and looking for ways to deal with (read "avoid") the associated pain. For one week I experimented with a ritual of snorting crushed oxicodone, drinking vodka and tonic with lemon and lime and cutting myself. each night i increased the dosage of drugs, alcohol and cutting. My torso now has a smattering of scars. some long and skinny, some short and fat. These four were the culmination of what i have come to regard as a failed experiment: they were the deepest, they bled for a frighteningly long time and they got somewhat infected. this ritual NEVER for a moment helped with my depression.
