We live on a small housing estate at the end of which is a grass area that the kids are supposed to play on. Behind this pitch is a series of fields and between the pitch and the fields there are trees in which we used to play, cutting away branches to create our own little areas. When I was around 11 we were playing in one of the tree huts we had created there, me, my brother, my next door neighbour who was my best friend at the time and a few other kids. I had climbed over the barbed wire fence between the hut and was standing in the field talking to someone in the hut. The fence was divided into two sections and I was standing on the bottom rung leaning over the top rung. Suddenly the bottom rung snapped and the top rung cut all along my side ripping what I remember was quite an expensive yellow Nike jumper but also leaving a huge cut on my side. At the time it was quite painful but once I'd cleaned all the blood off it wasn't that bad. It left a huge scar that's still there, though.
