Advice to Jackie at 16:
1) Don't try to grow up so fast. Fleeing may not be the answer. Dismiss the resentment of those you leave behind, but love them anyway.
2) Embrace change. You don't have to like the result of the change but accept that it is always happening, and that in many situations, any change, even a painful one, is better than stagnance.
3) You made the right decision about Him #1. He will be your best friend for life.
4) You made the right decision about Him #2. He will never stop looking for another you.
5) You made the wrong decision about Him #3. He's waiting on you to figure it out. Don't give in.
6) Smile more, judge less.
7) When you eventually meet Him #4, be more liberal with forgiveness and more conservative with your harsh words. Otherwise, he will never make you feel the way you want to feel. This is your problem. You'll love him most of all, but you know you can't wait seven years to do it.
8) Accept mistakes. Make a few on purpose.
